The simple way to understand complicated fees
The fees for all aged care facilities is heavily regulated by the Government. So, unfortunately, they can feel complicated. Here’s a simple explanation.
It all depends on your level of Government support
By visiting servicesaustralia.gov.au or calling 1800 227 475 you can clarify how much Government assistance you qualify for. You’ll either be ‘Fully Supported’, ‘Partially Supported’ or ‘Non-Supported’ – your fees directly relate to your financial situation.
| Fully Supported Resident | Partially Supported Resident | Non-Supported Resident | |
| Basic Daily Fee* | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) OR Refundable Accommodation Contribution (RAC)** | No | Based on Assets & Income | Yes |
| Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) OR Daily Accommodation Contribution (DAC)** | No | Based on Assets & Income | Yes |
| Non-Clinical Care Contribution*** | No | No | Based on Assets & Income |

**Amount determined by the Government assessment.
***Annual and lifetime caps limit the amount of non-clinical care contribution you may need to pay.
Please note, some fees may commence or increase with a change in financial circumstances of a resident.
